Rorschach Butterfly
by Antonio Rocco S. (The Prince of the Power of the Air)
ʚїɞ Le papillonnement. A Rorschach butterfly is reminded that it cannot fly. Despite its attempts to beat its wings, the ink remains dry. A psyche, locked in a self-made cocoon, that will never see the sky. ʚїɞ From flower to flower. Yet another day spent idling in my head, Watching tutorials for instruments never to be played And reading reviews for books never to be read. The musician and the literati elude me, Yet I carry all of their stress. Lives I live vicariously Seem to have taken their toll nonetheless. ʚїɞ From subject to subject. I stare at the clock like an actor in a Western, And despite not having a role, I rehearse, Without going near a music stand or a lectern; I am slow on the draw but quick in the hearse. This is perhaps the worst fate to be consigned; Projecting myself onto personas of my own design; My mind is at rest yet mine is a restless mind. ʚїɞ A mind at rest is a restless mind. Nous nous épuisons à imaginer ce que nous ne faisons pas. (Translation: We exhaust ourselves imagining what we do not do.)
